KEY EXECUTIVES

Kenneth Astheimer
President Agency Services
Ken has 33 years of experience in the title insurance industry, and he is responsible for ensuring the LandAmerica network of more than 10,000 agents has everything it needs to function successfully. Ken joined LandAmerica in 1974 and has held numerous executive leadership positions with the company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Westmar College and a master’s degree in business from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Theodore L. Chandler, Jr.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Ted joined LandAmerica full-time in 2000, served as Chief Operating Officer from 2002 to 2004, added the responsibilities of President on January 1, 2004, and became Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2005. He added the title of Chairman of the Board on January 1, 2007. Prior to joining LandAmerica, Ted had been a member of the company’s Board of Directors for nine years and spent 22 years in private practice with the Richmond-based law firm Williams, Mullen, Clark & Dobbins, where he was a partner and member of the Board. Ted holds a bachelor’s degree, with distinction, from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and a juris doctor from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.

Ross W. Dorneman
Executive Vice President Chief Administrative Officer
Ross has 35 years of human resources experience. He is responsible for helping LandAmerica attract, develop, and retain the talented employees needed to achieve our shared vision of being the premier provider of real estate transaction services. Ross joined LandAmerica in 2002 as EVP – Human Resources. He received his undergraduate degree with honors from George Washington University, where he also attended graduate school. Ross is a life member of WorldatWork (the former American Compensation Association) and a Vietnam veteran.

G. William Evans
Executive Vice President Chief Financial Officer
Bill has served as LandAmerica CFO since 1999 and is responsible for the integrity of all financial information including the underlying strength of LandAmerica’s balance sheet. He is the primary spokesperson on all financial matters necessary to meet public financial reporting needs mandated by the SEC. In 2005, Bill assumed expanded responsibilities in working more closely with company operations in the areas of budgeting, business planning and performance, and improving profitability. Before assuming the role of CFO, he served as Executive Vice President – Information Technology and was previously the CFO for Lawyers Title. A Certified Public Accountant, Bill received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Concord College in West Virginia.

Charles H. Foster, Jr.
Chairman Emeritus
In 2005, the LandAmerica Board of Directors separated the roles of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Charlie was named Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has been with the company since 1979. Charlie received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 1965 and earned his MBA degree from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia in 1968. He started his career with IBM and also worked for Merrill Lynch. In 1974, he joined Richmond Corporation, a financial holding company that included Life of Virginia and Lawyers Title in its portfolio. Charlie ultimately served as CFO, President, CEO, and Chairman of Lawyers Title before becoming Chairman and CEO of LandAmerica in 1998.

Margaret M. Foster
Executive Vice President  Residential Services, West Region
Margaret is a 30-year veteran of the title insurance industry. Her region includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada. She joined LandAmerica in 1977 and previously served as SVP - Arizona and Maricopa County Manager. Margaret received her bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University and is a past president of the Arizona Land Title Association.

Michelle H. Gluck
Executive Vice President Chief Legal Officer
Michelle is a 21-year veteran of the legal profession. As General Counsel, she contributes sound legal reasoning and practical insights into legal issues facing LandAmerica. As Corporate Secretary, she oversees the governance of our Board of Directors. Michelle joined LandAmerica in 2003 after serving Kmart Corporation as VP - Associate General Counsel & Assistant Secretary. She holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan, where she graduated with honors.

Richard P. Gonzalez
Executive Vice President Chief Information Officer
Rick directs technology activities and personnel to maximize the efficiency and security of the company's information and communication systems. Rick joined LandAmerica in 2005 as Senior Vice President - Chief Information Officer. Previously, he served as an Independent Senior IR Consultant for Credit Suisse First Boston and Exante Financial Services in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President - Operations and Technology for NASDAQ, the world's largest electronic, screen-based, equity securities market. Rick received his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Queens College, part of the City University of New York.

Melissa A. Hill
President  Residential Services
Melissa oversees our large network of residential branches across the United States, which offer services that include title, closing, and escrow, as well as home warranty and property inspections. Melissa, who joined LandAmerica in 2001, has more than 20 years of experience in the successful delivery of appraisal and settlement services. She was previously president of LandAmerica OneStop, and she has a bachelor’s degree in business from Ball State University.

John A. Magness
Executive Vice President  Residential Services, Southeast and Southwest Regions
John has 23 years of industry experience. His region includes operations in New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. He previously served LandAmerica as SVP – Commercial Services for the Southwest Region. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston.

John M. Obzud
Executive Vice President Agency Services, Southeast Region
John has 28 years of experience in the title insurance industry. His region includes Alabama, Arkansas, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. John joined LandAmerica in 1996 and previously served as EVP and East Region Manager. He has a juris doctor degree from the University of Baltimore Law School, a master’s degree from Morgan State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College. John is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland Bar Associations, a past president of the Maryland Land Title Association, and a past board member of the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association.

Lynn M. Riedel
Executive Vice President  Residential Services, Northwest Region
Lynn has 30 years of experience in the title and escrow industry.  She joined the company in 1987 to launch a startup operation in Pierce County, Washington. Since then she has held a series of positions with increasing responsibility, including Area Manager and Regional Leader for the NW Region.

Pam K. Saylors
President Commercial Services
Pam currently directs company operations that focus on commercial customers who conduct business at a local or national level. Among the services the Commercial channel provides are title, escrow, environmental assessment, appraisal and 1031 exchange. During her more than 30 years with LandAmerica, Pam has held a variety of leadership positions of increasing responsibility in which she has completed many complex commercial transactions and focused on the needs of our commercial customers. Pam has a juris doctorate from the Woodrow Wilson College of Law, a master's of theological studies from Emory University and a bachelor of arts degree from Berry College.

James E. Sindoni
Executive Vice President  Agency Services, Northeast Region
Jim is a 28-year veteran of the title insurance industry. His region includes Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. He joined LandAmerica in 1977 and previously served as SVP of the East Region with responsibility for Pennsylvania and Delaware. Jim attended Delaware County Community College, Drexel University, and the Pennsylvania Land Title Institute. He served three terms as chairperson of the Title Insurance Rating Bureau of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Delaware Title Insurance Rating Bureau, the Delaware Valley Association of Realtors, the Mortgage Bankers Association of Greater Philadelphia, and the Pennsylvania Land Title Association.

William C. Thornton, Jr.
Executive Vice President Marketing Resources
Bill has 35 years of experience in marketing, and he joined the company in 2002. Prior to joining the executive management team, Bill served as SVP for SunTrust Bank, where he directed marketing initiatives for the Mid-Atlantic region. He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Virginia and has completed courses of study at the Virginia School of Bank Management as well as the Stonier School of Bank Management at Rutgers University.

Jeffrey D. Vaughan
Executive Vice President Corporate Development
Jeff’s focus is on generating new revenue streams for LandAmerica through product development and implementation of affiliations, joint ventures, and acquisitions in potential and existing markets. He joined LandAmerica 24 years ago and has held positions of increasing responsibility ever since. Jeff is a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business. He serves on the board of RealEC Technologies, Inc., eAppraiseIT, and Title/Appraisal Vender Management Association, among others.

Marcy A. Welburn
Executive Vice President  Residential Services, Midwest and Northeast Regions
Marcy oversees LandAmerica’s operations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. She was in mortgage banking for three years before joining Transamerica in 1986, which then became a part of LandAmerica. She spent the next 19 years serving in various positions including SVP - Residential Services for Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Marcy received a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Business, Material and Logistics Management at Michigan State University.

Albert V. Will
President  Lender Services
Al joined LandAmerica in 2005. Beginning his career in 1978, Al has held several increasingly important positions in the financial services industry. He joined Banc One Mortgage as COO and board member in 1995. He was then recruited to oversee the operations of Amerin Guaranty in 1998. Al led the integration of the merger of Amerin with Commercial Mortgage Acceptance Corporation to form The Radian Group. He served at Radian for six years, the last four as EVP of Operations. In 2004, he founded Lincoln Abstract, LLC, a regional title insurance and closing management company in the Midwest – his second successful startup enterprise. Al has also served as a nationally recognized consultant to the banking and real estate transaction services industries. He received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Albany in New York.
