Beginning in 2005, LandAmerica made the commitment to support the REALTOR® Magazine's Good Neighbor Awards and most importantly, what the awards stand for – Responsible Citizenship. Perfectly aligned with the LandAmerica Guiding Principle of Responsible Corporate Citizenship, the Good Neighbor Awards exemplify exactly what LandAmerica and its employees have believed for years. LandAmerica employees continuously give back to their communities either through time or energy. The Good Neighbor Awards are presented by the National Association of Realtors® publication, REALTOR Magazine. 2008 marks the 9th year of the program. REALTORS are nominated by their peers, or themselves, as "good neighbors" who have made an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of life in their communities. Good Neighbors care about the communities in which they live and work, and many devote themselves to causes and efforts that build and strengthen those communities. "The 2008 REALTOR Magazine Good Neighbor Awards winners epitomize everything a volunteer should be – dedicated, generous, and passionate about their cause," said NAR Vice President of Publications Pamela Geurds Kabati, REALTOR Magazine’s editorial director. "We hope these Realtors inspire others around the country to give back to their communities." (Excerpt from NAR October 23, 2008 press release)
